Meet the Team
Cam Hill Watson
General Manager
Based in the charming city of Kingston, Ontario, Cam Hill Watson (She/Her) is a lively and passionate arts advocate who champions meaningful and accessible opportunities for youth. Currently anticipating exciting projects that bring Kingston's rich history to life through theatre and dance, Cam has been making waves as the General Manager of Blue Canoe Productions since November 2023. Under her vibrant leadership, the Launchpoint Academy Program has been revitalized, and she is enthusiastically forging new community partnerships. When she's not busy transforming the arts scene, you'll find Cam joyfully cooking for her family, her fiancée, and her playful beagle, Oakley.
Remira Pryce
Managing Director
Since coming to Kingston for school at Queen’s in 2016 for a Bachelors of Arts, Remira has called Kingston home. During undergrad, she was on the Exec for Queen’s Chorus and Queen’s University Concert Orchestra, and was involved in a number of theatre productions (many Blue Canoe ones!) as a stage manager, vocal director, music director, etc. Remira has worked at Mulberry Waldorf School as the Music teacher since graduating from the Queen’s Bachelor of Education program. She has volunteered with Blue Canoe since 2018 and is so happy to get to support meaningful, accessible youth theatre experiences as the Managing Director. Her favourite part of Blue Canoe is that people are supported in their skill development no matter their level or experience, and the connections that people get to build during the projects!
Shamara Peart
Juvenis Managing Director
Shamara is a multidisciplinary artist and editor who lives in Kingston, ON. After moving to complete her Master's degree in English Literature at Queen's, she's been infiltrating many areas of Kingston's art scene since! As the Juvenis Managing Director, her goal is to deepen ties with community organizations and find out how to better support youth during the festival. As participants develop their skills, the Blue Canoe team offers them additional resources and opportunities to network. With the ultimate goal of making the arts more accessible, her background in theatre, creative writing, and textiles motivates her to consider multiple perspectives. When not writing, she can be found watching a live performance, caring for her houseplants, spending time with her cat Paparazzi, or doing crochet.
