Show Details: Each Project will look a little different for commitment and show dates, but all projects will have rehearsals starting in January 2025, and will run between April 24th-May 4th, 2025. All rehearsals will be at the Blue Canoe Studio (1296 Bath Road).
What to submit/prepare?
Each project asks for something different - see below for audition requirements and casting breakdowns for each project (to be added once sign-up’s open). In-Person auditions will be at the Blue Canoe Studio (1296 Bath Road).
Casting Breakdowns + Audition Information
Winnie the Pooh (Minimum grade 1) - Casting Breakdown
Auditions = December 14th, 12-7pm; December 15th, 12-7pm.
Aged 6-10: Please prepare a 1min cut of any song of your choice. We are looking for confidence and memorization. Some children may be asked to perform a cold read scene.
Anne of Green Gables by Gretchen Cryer (Minimum grade 5) - Casting Breakdown
Auditions = December 14th, 12-7pm; December 15th, 12-7pm.
Ages 10-13: Please prepare a 1min cut of a contemporary musical theatre song and a 1min monologue (can be dramatic or comedic). Some may be asked to perform a cold read scene.
Amélie Teen Version (grades 9-13) - Casting Breakdown
Auditions = December 7th, 3-8:30pm; December 8th 10am-1pm & 6-8:30pm; December 9th 5:30-8:30pm.
Please prepare a 1.5min song and EITHER 1-1.5min of a monologue OR contrasting song. Anything that shows off your range, and the different characters you may be able to play!
Find Yourself (Original play Written & Directed by Shay O’Brien)- 18-30 years old - Casting Breakdown
Auditions = December 1st, 10am-1pm, and 6-9pm.
Please prepare both a short comedic and a short dramatic monologue (each ~1min long). Cold reads may be given during the audition.
Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night (Adapted & Directed by Felicia Holmes) - 19-30 years old - Casting Breakdown
Auditions = December 1st, 10am-1pm, and 6-9pm.
Please prepare a 2min Shakespearean monologue that you can relate to a present day experience (aka falling in love, being mad at a sibling, plotting revenge, etc).
Optional: sing (or play instrumentals) a section of a song - A Cappella, accompany yourself, or bring a karaoke track.
*If auditioning for BOTH Find Yourself and Twelfth Night, or no preference between those:
Please prepare one Shakespearean monologue (max 2min) AND a short non-Shakespearean monologue (~1min) of a contrasting emotion.
You will be considered for both, and may be asked for redirection by both directors in the audition.
